Brita & Märit, 2015
Installation by Ann-Charlotte Rugfelt and Tomas Ferm.

Four tons of wooden logs placed around the equestrian statue with the swedish king Karl lX at Kungsportsplatsen in Gothenburg, Sweden. The logs were anchored in the ground so that people could sit on them.

In 1609, Karl IX instituted new laws which paved the way for the witch-burning that reached its peak in Sweden 50 years later. The work Brita och Märit was included in the exhibition SpotCity Updated 2015.
